In June, the federal government announced the creation of a new statutory holiday known as the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation to be recognized on September 30 each year.

This day fulfills the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC's)  Call-to-Action #80 and will serve as a day of remembrance, reflection, action and learning. Since 2013, September 30 has been known as Orange Shirt Day, a day to recognize the tragic history and long-standing effects of residential schools.

Unity Canada will host a 90- minute round-table to discuss the TRC calls to action specifically related to faith communities and what this means for us as Unity Ministries, and individuals. All are welcome to join.

Our gathering will feature a short presentation on the TRC calls to Action for Faith communities.  Recognizing that there are reconciliation actions happening already within the Unity movement, the presentation will be followed by an opportunity for sharing of individual and ministry reconciliation actions being undertaken.
