Come and join us for an evening of raising awareness of indigenous history with the viewing of The Secret Path Documentary. Followed by a fireside discussion.  National Reconciliation Awareness Day is on September 30.  Our hope is to raise consciousness by educating ourselves about the unjust treatment of our indigenous brothers and sisters, so that we can better understand, do something and do better.

The Secret Path is an animated film from Gord Downie that tells the true story of Chanie Wenjack, a 12-year-old boy who died while trying to escape from a residential school and travel back home. In 1967, a Maclean’s cover story that told this tragic tale inspired Gord Downie to write Secret Path and so began the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.
